FORTITUDE SCALE: MEASURING INSTRUMENT CONSTRUCTION

Abstract


Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengembangkan dan menguji validitas serta reliabilitas alat ukur fortitude yang terdiri dari tiga dimensi utama: self-appraisal, family appraisal, dan support appraisal. Fortitude didefinisikan sebagai kekuatan psikologis untuk menghadapi kesulitan secara konstruktif dan mempertahankan kesejahteraan mental. Metode penelitian menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan desain penelitian terapan, melibatkan 572 mahasiswa UIN Sunan Gunung Djati Bandung sebagai responden. Proses pengembangan alat ukur mengikuti tiga tahap validitas berdasarkan pendekatan Loevinger, yaitu validitas substansi, struktural, dan eksternal. Hasil menunjukkan bahwa seluruh item valid menurut uji Aiken’s V (V > 0,5), dan reliabel dengan nilai Cronbach’s Alpha sebesar 0,769. Model pengukuran juga memenuhi kriteria model fit dalam analisis CFA (RMSEA = 0,072; CFI = 0,97; NFI = 0,96). Validitas konvergen dibuktikan melalui korelasi positif dengan individual adaptability (r = 0,527) dan resilience (r = 0,650), sementara validitas diskriminan ditunjukkan melalui korelasi negatif dengan helplessness (r = -0,310) dan vulnerability (r = -0,238). Hasil ini menyimpulkan bahwa alat ukur ini layak digunakan untuk menilai kekuatan psikologis individu dalam menghadapi tekanan hidup.
