Potret Pemikiran, with registered numbers ISSN 1693-1874 (Print), ISSN 2528-0376 (Online) is a peer-reviewed journal published twice a year in June and December by the Institute for Research and Community Service, State Islamic Institute (IAIN) ) Manado.
Articles published in Potret Pemikiran, have been reviewed by two or more reviewers. Starting from 2019, Potret Pemikiran only accepts articles from original findings (top priority), and new scientific review articles (non-priority) (Bekker et al., 1999; Bezuidenhout et al., 2009). The decision whether or not a scientific article is accepted in this journal will be the right of the Editorial Board based on peer reviewer recommendations (Bhaktavatsalam & Choudhury, 1995).
TITLE, NAME AND ADDRESS OF THE AUTHOR
The title of the article, the author's name (without an academic degree), and the author's affiliation address and email address are written in the middle of the first page below the article title. The space between the title and the author's name is double spaced; meanwhile the distance between the author's email address and the title of the abstract is a single space. Keywords must be written in the abstract. These are arranged alphabetically and separated by semicolons consisting of 3-5 words. GUIDELINES FOR WRITING ARTICLE CONTENT
Article Title: The title of the article must be written briefly and clearly. It indicates an issue that must be discussed and should not be misinterpreted. The title of the article is written in capital letters symmetrically and does not contain unusual abbreviations. Express the main idea of a new article and follow it with another explanation.
Introduction : The introduction consists of (in order) the general background, the state of the art as a basis for the scientific novelty statement of the article, the scientific novelty statement, and the research problem or hypothesis. At the end, the introduction should state the purpose of the article review. Literature review is not allowed in scientific article format, so it is replaced by state of the art to prove the novelty of the article.
Research Methods : Methods are applied to solve problems, including analytical methods. The method used to solve the research problem is described in this section.
Results and Discussion: This section consists of results and discussion. Each result must be supported by adequate data. Then, the results must be able to answer the research questions or hypotheses stated earlier in the introduction.
Conclusion: The conclusion states the answer to the hypothesis and/or research objectives or scientific findings. Conclusion is not a repetition of findings and discussion, but it is a summary of findings as expected in an objective or hypothesis. If necessary, conclusions can also be ended with further ideas to be applied to this research.
Acknowledgments: Acknowledgments are especially addressed to research funders or donors. Acknowledgments can also be dedicated to the people who contributed to this research.
References: All references used in the article must be listed in the References section. References must contain reference literature from primary sources (scientific journals at least 80% of all references) published in the last 15 (ten) years. Each article contains at least 5-10 (ten) references. It is better to write a reference system in articles and in the reference section using a reference management program such as Mendeley, EndNote, Zotero or others.
REFERENCE WRITING GUIDELINES
Authors must write sources when they use data or quote statements from other literature. References or quotations are indicated by writing the author's name and year (Irwan and Salim, 1998). If there are more than two authors, only the first author's name is listed followed by "et al". (Bezuidenhout et al., 2009; Roeva, 2012). Everything cited in the article must be listed in the References section, and vice versa, everything written in the References must be included in the article (Wang et al., 2011).
GUIDELINES FOR WRITING REFERENCES
All references used in the article must be listed in the References section. References must contain reference literature from primary sources (scientific journals at least 80% of all references) published in the last 15 (ten) years. Each article contains at least 5-10 (ten) references.
It's better to write References using a reference management program like Mendeley (download) (tutorial). The writing format used in Portrait of Thought is APA 6th Edition (American Psychological Association).
